Events: (non-scoring) 4x8 / mile
I ran the first leg of our non-scoring 4x8 and was aiming for 2:45ish so I would still have something left for the mile. A freshman - Paige Grady - from Erskine took it out pretty quickly, and behind her was Meaghan Collier, then me. I didn't really feel like pushing myself (since it didn't matter, it was a non-scoring relay just for fun) so I kind of just waited until the last lap to see if they were going to keep pace or if I could just kick for 200m and be fine. Coming into the last lap I felt pretty good so I passed them and ran around 2:37 which is fine with me.
After that I was feeling pretty dead, but I still had the mile and I really wanted to qualify which seemed doable. I led it out and stuck there for the rest of the race. Meaghan and I planned to go together and she ended up just missing the qualifying standard which was too bad, but I'm certain she'll get there next meet if she runs it/wants to. I really hate the mile!
1 Lam, Melody SR Mt. Blue 5:40.00 5:42.47 10My college planning is going pretty well. I've heard back from 3/8 schools so far, those 3 being USM, UMO, and UMass!! UMass is tied for my first choice with a couple others so I'm still going to wait until I hear back from: Champlain, Mass. College of Pharmacy and Health Science, Brandeis, Quinnipiac, and Colby. I think either way I'll be happy because USM, UMO and UMass are all schools where I can see myself going, and running. It was really exciting getting my acceptance letters.
