Meet @ Skowhegan 5/13!

I'M HAPPY!!

Today was such a nice day! Beautiful, beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I did the 4x8, 300H, 3200, and 4x4. Our 4x8 was a good team: Gwen Beacham, Louisa Stancioff, Addie, and me. We were trying to shed some time and I think we shaved a lot from last meet.. over 10 seconds. YAYY!!
After that we painted our legs with some car-window paint that I had in my bag, you know.. to gain some extra speed and luck and all that. I feel like I'm such a fool for superstition that it may have actually helped me mentally somehow. I like weird random team things like this.

Then I had some time until the hurdles an
d I was getting pumped and ready. We were all very dead after the 4x8 probably because Addie, Gwen and I didn't drink anything all day which was DUMB of us! Lesson learned. I was in the third lane heat one. I've been trying to get under sub 50 before championship meets and today I did 49.5 and placed first which makes me veryyyy happy!!! It's not crazy good but I still get really excited and happy when I go under 50, just because I remember how long it took me last year and how excited I was then. That, and the fact that I'm not really a hurdler.
Kelton ended up winning and getting our school record today in the 800 with 1:58, with Luke Fontaine taking 2nd.

The two mile was deathly.. you know? Just.. ouch.. never ending..etc. It was combined guys and girls which I liked. Girls were started on the higher pole. My goal was to try and stick with Morgan Beede throughout the race. I ended up running right behind her for most of it but she pulled ahead and ended up 10 seconds ahead of me in the finish. She ran 12:09 and I ran 12:19 (unofficially). I'm alright with that time, since my best time from last year was 12:10, and when I did it in indoor I ran 12:40 something. I'm thinking that I like the mile better. I mean don't get me wrong I hate them both a lot, but I'm saying mile over two mile for sure.

Gwen took first in the 800 with a 2:36 I believe. She also won the mile in 5:47 both races being run quite alone.

The 4x4 came super quickly after the two mile. It was like... catch my breath, walk to my stuff and get a drink, 4x4 on the line. I was the anchor, with Gwen, Eliza, and Addie. When Addie handed off to me we were a significant amount behind Cony, but I tried to close the gap as much as I could. I ended up running 1:05.xx which I'm happy with because that's around what I usually run, and because the two mile was very tiring.

Next meet is under the lights!
